It's a car park! There is a concrete roadway, built years ago, (I presume, to allow access to the VOR Beacon nearby (117mHz SFD)). Look up and you'll see aircraft setting a new direction above. More down to earth... parking is off the roadway on the chalk. Rain has caused some severe sunken patches. Driving off the roadway needs care in some parts as the levels can abruptly change. Edit I notice that some attempt has been made to repair the undulations recently.There will be dog owners; some don't pickup. Watch where you tread!
The farmer just spread silage on the field at the back of the barn and no notices so it's really mucky for walking over the public right of way to Hope Gap. Still very pleasant elsewhere. Getting a bit chilly now though.
Excellent place to park for free enabling lovely walks along the Downs. Good dog walking area. Avoid busy times though such as weekends!

Fantastic Nature Reserve with some great footpaths coastal views of the Chalk Cliffs.Plenty of wildlife and birds to spot.Tracks are firm under foot but steep descents and inclines might make it a little challenging for the less mobile or those in wheelchairs.
